Well, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! e that its owner firmly believes is worth $5.5. Go on, tell me it ain't worth every penny. That's okay, I'll wait until after the mouth-throwing-up-in and bong-hiding. I'm almost sure CM can make his worth $200 more than this one if he really tries.

Now, now, you're letting the bondo patches and rust get in the way of your idea of what this car Could Be.

A 2nd gen turbo Corvair is pulling 1$10-15k now when restored. Yenko Stingers are in the $60-70k range

I probably have over 6K in it, yeah, I'm an idiot, I've been told that..
Yes, I know you can get a serviceable corvair for 5 or 6 grands, the self proclaimed Corvair Guru emailed me about that, I've been enlightened so please, don't email me about it or how offensive my price is, thanks!
At least he's honest.

Yep. This being neither, and having probably $8k+ to go before becoming halfway decent...

especially when this one can be bought straight up for 6500, or whatever the bid tops at
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-…
Come on, it would only take $1000 worth of work to make them match, right?

A corvair is a car you buy because you like it. It's not s car you buy and expect to flip for profit 5 years down the road. You almost always have to dump more money than it's worth into it
![]() 10/17/2014 at 11:50 |

True. It's just that there are a lot better Corvairs for the money out there than this one - offering the same options and requiring less dumping in after purchase. This guy, I think, got too far in. Powdercoating the frame when he had those other issues to deal with? Not a good enough value add to make what he's asking for.

$300 paint at Maaco, $600 top, and about $100 of miscellaneous parts and you're there. Probably.

haha yeah MAYBE

yeah I don't see how the seat frames add up to a grand in powder coating. There is no frame on a Corvair its a true unibody. Yeahs he early Corvairs still go dirt cheap for running car

Shit. Forgot the $8 can of chrome paint for the trim - now we're over-budget.

Wow, that's alot. Although, They are a blast to drive! I was lucky and got to drive one at an autocross. I now understand why people like the old Porsches and Corvairs. Nothing like getting hard on the gas and the ass in a control slide through the turns.
